Nordberg Belated Honeymoon

Dotty and I wed Sept 8th, 2001. We were supposed to have flown out to our honeymoon in Mexico on Sept 11th, 2001. Obviously.. that didn't happen. So - March 24th, we set off for a week to Xpu-ha, Quintana Roo, United States of Mexico.

Xpu-what?

There are several pronounciations of "Xpu-ha". It's comes from a Mayan word that has sounds not represented in Spanish, but you can keep the residents happy by saying either "eesh-poo-ha" or "iss-poo-ha".

The Mayan language sounds a bit like the make-believe language of Klingon from Star Trek. Too bad they didn't offer it instead of German. ;)

So where is it?

The Yucatan Peninsula is made of several states, but Quintana Roo bascially covers the Eastern length of the Penisula. Xpu-ha isn't shown on many maps, as it's a recent development. It's basically South of Playa del Carmen and North of Akumal.

Xpu-ha Palace is an eco-preserve all-inclusive hotel. The rooms come two to a bungaloo, and there are four bungaloos to an area. There's dense vegitatation in pretty much every direction.
