Dotty is what keeps me happy through all else, and there's been an awful lot of "all else" in the last few years. She is my love, my life, the reason I want to go home at the end of the day, the one I can't fall asleep without, the one for whom I want to make all things well, and the one with whom I hope to grow old, grey and happier still. She's the one for whom I'm wiser than to ask, "Why is she with me?"
We've been happily married since Sept 8th, 2001, and have been friends for much, much longer.
In return for making my life happy, for her I squash bugs, take wayward spiders back outside, open jars, fetch items down from high shelves, and free trapped possums from trashcans. It may not sound like a good deal for her, but have you ever had a close up look at a possum? ;)
Dotty works for the American College of Rheumatology, located here in Atlanta, GA, where she works as their systems and network administrator for a fair sized Window network. She also gives annual presentations and teaches continuing education credit courses to Rheumatologists and related medical professionals. As with any tech job, there's lot of hand-holding, but she also gets to play with the fun stuff, which is pretty much all any geek can ask for these days.
She's also preparing (as of Sept 2003) to test up for her black belt in TaeKwonDo. Dotty's up to breaking three boards now. She brings them home for me. Haven't decided quite what to make out of them yet, but it had better be good, cause.. well.. you know.. I mean.. she can break three boards and all.. *nervous cough*
Dotty is also the person who has.. we'll say.. "mellowed" me down a bit over the years. Apparently I'm a little "on edge" sometimes.
She's the best. :)
